B.Pharm is an undergraduate four years course (approved by PCI) which is a prerequisite for registration to practice as a pharmacist. It imparts skills to work in industry, clinical setups, drug control organizations, education and research sectors in pharmaceuticals.
Minimum qualification for admission directly to third semester of the B.Pharm course (Lateral admission)is as follows :A candidate who has passed the Diploma in Pharmacy course of Educational Regulations 1991 under Pharmacy act 1948 from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India with a minimum of 50% marks in the final year examinations.
A candidate on admission to the B. Pharm course shall apply to the University for Registration.
The course of study is six semesters (three academic years) for lateral entry students. The curricula and syllabi for the program shall be prescribed from time to time by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.
