Introduction

Pharmacy courses are the health profession that play a vital role in the healthcare system,dealing especially about medicines.This course enables the students to clear doubts regarding the prescriptions given by the doctors and provide valuable advice to the patients. Pharmacists are capable of providing drug information, evaluating drugs, its usage pattern, safety and efficacy. Research and Development (R & D) in the pharmaceutical industry is advancing at a rapid speed which calls for Pharmacists with attractive financial packages in spite of the economic crisis prevailing now.


Eligibility

Minimum qualification for admission to first Semester B.Pharm course:

A candidate who has undergone any of the following courses and passed the examination with an aggregate of 50% marks in overall and 50% marks in the optional subject.

  • HSE/CBSE/ICSE Examinations with Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Biotechnology as optional subjects.
  • Any other Examination with Physics, Chemistry & Biology /Mathematics/ Computer Science / Biotechnology as optional subjects approved as equivalent to any of the above examinations by the Kerala University of Health Sciences.

Registration :

A candidate on admission to the B. Pharm course shall apply to the University for Registration.

  • By making a formal application in the prescribed format.
  • Original degree certificate and mark lists of qualifying examination.
  • Allotment letter from the competent authority.
  • Eligibility and migration certificate wherever needed.
  • Original SSLC/equivalent certificate.
  • The fees prescribed for the course.

Duration Of Course

The course of study for B. Pharm shall extend over a period of eight semesters (four academic years) and six semesters (three academic years) for lateral entry students. The curricula and syllabi for the program shall be prescribed from time to time by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi
