IPA-SF (Indian Pharmaceutical Association Students’ Forum)

IPA-SF is a national forum for pharmacy students under the Indian Pharmaceutical Association. All facets of the Pharmaceutical world: academia, industry, community hospital pharmacy, regulatory affairs are highlighted by IPA. IPA-SF was formed on August 16, 2008 in Mumbai in the presence of Former president of India, late Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. This body has brought Pharmacy students under one umbrella, where their energies have been synergized towards activities pertaining to the Pharmaceutical world. It enables students to become better future pharmacists while abiding to the highest ethical and professional standards and thus contribute to the overall development of their personality

NATIONAL COUNCIL SELECTION

• Pharm D student Ms. Anna Thomas ,SJCOPS, Chalakudy was selected as the National council Member of IPA-SF on 14thJune 2019 for the period 2019-2021 and was posted as the Public Relations Officer.
• Pharm D student Ancy K.F (Pharmacy education committee), Pharm D student Ms. Sandra S. (Public Health committee) was selected as the Committee members of National council 2020-2021.

IPA-SF SJCOPS CHAPTER

IPA-SF (SJCOPS Chapter) Kerala branch was inaugurated on 29th January 2020 at St.James college of pharmaceutical sciences (SJCOPS), Chalakudy, Kerala. The IPASF(SJCOPS Chapter), Kerala State branch was inaugurated on 29th January 2020 at St. James College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SJCOPS), Chalakudy, Kerala. The chapter and the activities wereinaugurated by Dr. T.V Narayana (Hon. President, IPA) by lightning the lamp and receiving the 61 membership form from the Dr.K. Krishnakumar (Principal SJCOPS & Hon. Secretary IPA Kerala State Branch), Ms. Anna Thomas (National Council Member & PRO, IPASF) and Ms. Sowmya S. Menon (Chairperson, IPASF SJCOPS Chapter).

IPA-SF SJCOPS CHAPTER ACTIVITIES

• Video challenge competition- Pharmacy World -a student’s Perspective (PW-ASP) -students from SJCOPS had participated in the competition held on 13th to 16th August 2019.
• Awareness campaign conducted on Corona virus and its preventive measure: The members of the IPASF SJCOPS Chapter, Chalakudy, Kerala in coordination with the Students Council of St. James College of pharmaceutical sciences, Chalakudy conducted an awareness program on the “Current scenario of Novel Coronavirus and it’s preventive measures” on 7th February 2020 to the staff and students of Sacred Heart College, Chalakudy, Kerala. A total of about 600 students and staff participated in the session. The students and members of IPASC SJCOPS chapter also reached the public by counseling the individuals by visiting at their home in the municipal ward regarding the preventive measures, hand washing techniques to prevent the pandemic disease. They distributed the pamphlets which include the preventive and safety measures against COVID-19. The guidance of Dr. K. KrishnaKumar (Principal-SJCOPS, Hon. Secretary IPA Kerala State Branch) with the support of the management and staff made the awareness campaign successful.
