Pharmaceutical Chemistry

The Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department started functioning with the B.Pharm course in the year 2004. The Post-Graduate course of Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry was introduced in 2011. The PG students of the department carry out their research work in conjunction with DSIR approved research centre – St.James Hospital Trust Pharmaceutical Research Centre. Currently we have six faculty members, specialized in various areas of teaching and research. Our graduate and post graduate students have secured University ranks several times. The department has five laboratories equipped with modern instruments for the conduct of practicals for B.Pharm, Pharm.D, PG and Ph.D students. The department also provides consultancy services in areas such as qualitative and quantitative analysis of plant samples, synthetic chemistry and drug design. Many alumni of our department occupy esteemed positions like academicians, scientists, etc. in India and abroad. We have an active alumni network called the ‘Nexus alumni association, which plays a prominent role in both academic and infrastructure development of the department.
