Anti-Ragging Measures

Ragging has ruined countless innocent lives and careers. In order to eradicate it, Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 887 of 2009 passed the judgement wherein guidelines were issued for setting up of a Central Crisis Hotline and Anti-Ragging database.

Our college has an Anti-Ragging Committee which takes timely redressal of the students. At the beginning of every session, the Anti-Ragging Cell works to create awareness, conduct workshops against ragging menace, and orient the students. It is also reflected in the college prospectus. Students are informed about the functioning of the Anti-Ragging Cell in their respective classes. Notices are displayed in the girls’ hostel, canteen, playground, and other common areas.

Students have direct access to the members of the Anti-Ragging authority. Suggestion boxes are placed at various points in the college. Any complaints received from students or reports of harassment on campus are forwarded to the Anti-Ragging Cell. The members of the cell meet twice a year or as required to address any issues. An annual report is prepared by the Anti-Ragging Cell and submitted to the Principal.

Objectives of Anti-Ragging Committee

The Anti-Ragging Committee acts as a Supervisory and Advisory body on planning and implementing actions to build and preserve a ragging-free environment in the campus.

The Anti-Ragging Squad works under the Committee’s supervision, conducting regular checks in hostels, buses, canteens, classrooms, and other areas. They also educate students about the menace of ragging and the legal consequences.

The Committee designs strategies and action plans for curbing ragging through various activities and awareness drives.
